The Musical Image: the Concept and Spheres of Musical Imagery
Abstract
The material published here opens a two-part cycle titled as “The Musical Image.” The first of them introduces the concept of the musical image as the perception manifested (or “materialized”) in the musical sound. A vast panorama of objective aspects rendered by images is unfolded. These are categorized into the spheres of Man, the World and Music, or – as Motion and Play – they freely penetrate into any of the spheres. In the second, conclusive part both the general and the specialized features of the musical image shall be examined.
